The Delhish Dabba Takeover: Week 4: 2-in-1!! Roasted Pumpkin Seeds and Red Lentil Pumpkin Soup

I had originally planned to post this roasted pumpkin seed recipe in time for Halloween last week in the hope that it would save just some of the millions of pumpkin seeds that are thrown away come pumpkin carving season. However, I decided to do it now because after Halloween you can pick up pumpkins for pennies not pounds and it allows me to do a double whammy 2-in1 recipe where the hacked at dried up flesh doesn't go to waste too. First things first are the roasted pumpkin seeds, a truly healthy and tasty snack, for when you don't have any Delhish snacks to hand because you ate the whole pack approximately 4.5 minutes after you opened the bag (I know,...

The Delhish Dabba takeover: week 2: Chilli Chocolate Cake

I knew exactly which ingredients I wanted to play with this week, what with it being the best week ever (and if you don't know why you're clearly not following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!) It's National Curry Week, National Chocolate Week AND yesterday, when I made this, was National Dessert Day. I had to make something with chocolate and the chilli powder from my Delhish Dabba (which is currently on sale in our National Curry Week sale - you can get it filled with 10 essential spices for just £15!) This has become quite a fashionable combo in recent years and is often whipped up into mousses, but striking out from the norm, because we don't just follow the...

The Delhish Dabba takeover: week 1: Spiced Carrot Soup

Welcome to a new regular feature on the Delhish blog! It's the Delhish Dabba Takeover where Dipesh's partner, Rosie, will show you how to make everything but Indian food with your Dabba. Not that she can't cook Indian food, quite the contrary with her Delhish Dabba and Dipesh's recipes it's a 'doddle' - much to her family's delight - but what she likes to do best is experiment in the kitchen, adding spices where they're not usually found. She has been posting her creations on the Delhish Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages for a while, but now by popular demand she's sharing her full recipes with you here... The Delhish Dabba Takeover: Week 1: Spiced Carrot Soup This carrot soup is the perfect thing to...

The Delhish guide to Diwali

With Diwali coming up in November I thought to write up a guide to help people better understand this beautiful celebration. Diwali is an annual celebration which signifies the prevalence of light over darkness, hence its definition: the festival of lights. It is the biggest and brightest festival in India, when my friends used to ask me what it was I would reply "Indian Christmas", this was an easy way for me to give people an idea of how important and widely celebrated this festival is.  Every year for Diwali my mother hosts a dinner party, where she invites members of the local community and family friends of all ethnicities and religions. In the run up to this annual party I usually...
